** Our “low” season extends from May 1st through the latter part of October, while our “high” season officially kicks off with the WCT pro surf event near the end of October. Note that while the weather in Florianopolis is cooler during much of the former period (average highs – May: 73°, June: 69°, July: 68°, August: 69°, September: 70°, October: 73°), making surfing with a wetsuit desirable for example, this season also means the arrival of the largest and most powerful Atlantic swells and fewer surfers in the water, making for generally incredible surfing conditions. As such, this time of year is great for those looking for consistent and powerful waves, amazing nightlife (which never misses a beat in Florianopolis) and low prices to save some money along the way. Note that during the months of May and June certain Florianopolis beaches are closed for mullet fishing season, limiting somewhat the variety of surf options available.
